OUR HONEY

ACTIVE HONEY

  • Our honey is 100% Australian Manuka Honey.

Manuka honey, while being enjoyed for its delicious and unique taste, has been known for its natural antibiotic properties and health benefits and has been used throughout history.

The health benefit properties of Manuka honey is tested through the naturally occurring compound Methylgloxal (MGO). The amount of MGO in the honey is an indication to the degree of health properties and potency of the honey. The higher the MGO number in the Manuka honey, the stronger the antimicrobial activity levels and the more potent natural medicinal benefits.

Manuka honey is made by bees who get their nectar from flowers on the manuka tree which is native only to parts of Australia and New Zealand. Australian Manuka is characterised by its large degree of biodiversity with over 83 species of Manuka tree, 12 of which have bioactive, medicinal properties making it ideal for providing a high quality honey.
